CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) Technology

The world is demanding more from wireless communication technologies than ever before. More People around the world are subscribing to wireless services and consumers are using their phones more frequently. Add on features of Third-Generation (3G) wireless data services and applications – such as wireless email, web, digital picture taking/sending and assisted-GPS position location.

This is where CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) technology fits in. CDMA consistently provides better capacity for voice and data communications than other commercial mobile technologies, allowing more subscribers to connect at any given time, and it is the common platform on which 3G technologies are built.

CDMA technology

Multiple Access : The concept behind multiple access is to permit a number of users to share a common channel. The two traditional ways of multiple access are Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA).

FDMA : In Frequency Division Multiple Access, the frequency band is divided in slots. Each user gets one frequency slot. assigned that is used at will. It could be compared to AM or FM broadcasting radio where each station has a frequency assigned. FDMA demands good filtering.

The Benefits of the New Firefox Browser

You probably heard of the new Firefox browser version 1.0 recently released by Mozilla. If you are currently using Internet Explorer or Netscape, you are probably wondering if Firefox is better and why is it better. In order to answer these questions it is necessary to take a look at all the benefits that Firefox offers you as a user.

First of all, Firefox is free, which is definitely a plus. It is an open-source web browser based on the Mozilla code foundation and will work for Windows, Linux and MacOS X operating systems. These are the technical specification, but what is more interesting to you as a user is that Firefox is very fast, secure, and is easy to use and navigate. The user interface is straightforward and uncomplicated.

There are numerous benefits that Firefox has. One of them is the popup blocking capability. You no longer have to see all those frustrating popup windows since the browser will take cake of them. You also don’t need an alternative popup blocker program. Firefox also allows you to use tabs to open new web pages instead of using a new window. This feature is similar to the one that Netscape offers. However, with the Firefox, you can also open web pages in the background.

If you are trying to download some file, it will be automatically saved to your desktop. If you are using Google search engine for your search needs, you will appreciate the built in Google toolbar. Your Firefox toolbar will also include usual features like bookmarks, history, and text size and is customizable to include additional tools and features. If you would like to have an access to an email client you will need to download the Mozilla Thunderbird mail client software.

The Pitfalls of Using Technology for Technology’s Sake

Being old Internet entrepreneur, I made certain observations over time. Most people who start an online business seem to go through certain “phases.” They make the same mistakes, and they react the same to different circumstances. All the while, they realize that much of this behavior sends glaring red signal that they are probably beginners.

There is nothing wrong with being a newbie (after all, I was not born bright smile). But ask any novice and they will tell you they do not want to appear as a beginner. That’s why I feel the need to attract attention to the typical beginner mistakes you want to avoid. Errors using each part of the new web technology, you will find only because it is available.

I understand the attraction of new technologies. However, before you load a web page or the removal of animated graphics, to ask you some questions.

1. Will this technology add value to my site? By value I mean something that will increase (and not clutter) your Web experience visitors. In addition to being cold, the technology will in some way?

2. The technology will cause inconvenience to my visitors? Are all flash-style home page visitors (repeat visitors, even) to sit down and watch a movie for two minutes each time they come to your site? Have tons of animated or rotating graphics files make your home page load very slowly? Internet users are very impatient person, you know. I can tell you from experience, they will not wait.

3. Does the technology require visitors to my site to do something? Make your visitors to download special software or plug-in to see your site with this new technology? If so, jump! Not worth the chance visitor clicks away.

4. Is the technology stable? Is the chat programs you have installed reliable? Is this new java script work as it should? What video stream skip and crash? If you are new technologies do not work at a rate of 99% of the time, it’s not worth causing a worsening of your visitors.
